we exist to grow in faith

One of our priorities as a church is to help each person to grow in their faith in God.  God wants us to have faith in Him, and to increase in that faith.  But how?  It's not something we can just wish for or work up on our own.

How can we grow in faith?

Faith is an unshakable belief in God and the promises of God. Faith also involves God’s commands. We’re expected to put such confidence in everything God tells us to do that we actually do it! So a simple, but important part, of growing in your faith is to learn about God and His promises. To do that you need to study the Bible.

To help you grow in your faith we offer many small groups that study and explore the teachings of the Bible.

ADULT SUNDAY MORNING GROUPS

Room-4-Growth

Current Topic: The Book of Philippians

With sixteen references to “joy” and “rejoicing,” Philippians is one of the apostle Paul’s most upbeat letters, even though he wrote it in “bonds” (1:13). Paul thanks the church at Philippi for its support (1:5) and encourages its people to “rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice” (4:4).

Life Changes

Current Topic:  The Book of Colossians

False teaching (“enticing words,” 2:4) had infiltrated the church at Colosse, apparently causing some people to add unnecessary and unhelpful elements to their Christian faith. Paul sent this letter to remind Christians of the superiority of Jesus over Jewish rules and regulations (2:16), angels (2:18), and anything else. Jesus is “the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature" (1:15).

Leader: Tim Dow

Location: Church Library Room

Start-Up Group

Current Topic: Seven Churches in Revelation

What do we do when the seas of culture become stormy? Sixty years after Jesus' resurrection, the young Church feared it would founder in the rising waves: idol worship, false teachers, immorality, persecution, and more. In the midst of the storm, Jesus speaks through the pen of the apostle John, with urgent and practical words-words that remain full of application for us today.

ADULT WEEKDAY GROUPS

Tuesday Morning Women's Small Group

Current Topic: Psalm 119

Even the most mature believers face dark nights of the soul. During those times, God feels distant, His Word dry, and the vibrant intimacy we knew before seems absent leaving us wondering, “Where is the Lord in this?” In Psalm 119, we are introduced to the words of King David who experienced similar seasons of life. Serving as the anchor for the study, Psalm 119 demonstrates the power of God’s Word in the lives of believers and its ability to provide a warm blanket for the soul.

Friday Evening Monthly Women's Bible Group

Current Topic:  Jesus the One and Only

In this study you'll be invited to know Christ personally. Watch and listen as He breaks up a funeral by raising the dead, confronts conniving religious leaders of His day, teaches on a Galilean hillside, or walks on the waves and calms the storm.  Like a ragtag band of followers two thousands years ago, you will never be the same again after such an up close and personal encounter.

Leader: Kelly Satterfield

Location: Meets in our main building: Room F1

Day and Time: Third Fridays, 6:00 pm
